That’s a wrap! Our final regional event in Vic took us to Kerang in GannawarraShire, 1 of the “Fragile 8” councils with only 1 female councillor. Fabulous for @hula_grl & me to see the desire to improve the status quo - out of little things, big things grow! #WomenLeadingLocally

👋 David Littleproud MP Women for Election inspires & equips women for public office in Aust. We’ve done regional & rural tours of NSW & Vic (so far) & have trained over 2k women. We’d welcome a mtg about our work. We do believe in quotas; you’re welcome not to amp.theguardian.com/australia-news…

I can't wait to interview Fatima Payman next week for Women for Election & our alumnae. She's the youngest Senator in Canberra, has an amazing story & wants to inspire more young women to #getelected. Anyone can join, but rego is essential! #auspol wfe.org.au/in-conversatio…

It’s wonderful to hear from the Hon Julia Gillard at the Advancing Women’s Leadership Summit. Her focus on the need to lift gender equity in Local Govt is so insightful & is exactly why Women for Election is working with the Victorian Government via the #WomenLeadinglocally program.

Thank you Jacinda Ardern. Let’s celebrate a strong female political leader & her contribution to public life. Resist going down the 🐇 hole of “why” she’s resigning. She inspired many women to come to Women for Election training courses cos they watched her do things differently.

Have you been following the progress of the World Economic Forum in #Davos? There are hours of presentations & interviews you can attend & observe online. The #SannaMarrin interview was a highlight for me! #womeninpolitics Sanna Marin Women Political Leaders youtu.be/m1QNS__lCkk

Next week we’ll kick off our EQUIP “candidate boot camp”. Our attendees are typically women & non binary folk who want to run & those who want to learn about campaigning. Join me & @hula_grl by registering 👇. Warning: attendance side effects can include #gettingelected ! Pls RT

As NSW votes, pls look for a woman on your ballot sheet. Women for Election have done our job ⬆️ the number of women running, now it’s over to voters. With 🚺 candidates making up 39% of the lower house & 44% of the upper house, there’s never been a better time to #voteforwomen

If you think a Parliamentary Friendship Group is exciting... wait until Women for Election helps more women & non binary folk get elected at all levels of Government in Australia. That's what gets me up in the morning! smh.com.au/politics/feder…

It’s been a MASSIVE week for Women for Election. In 2021 the #SetTheStandard report by Kate Jenkins repeatedly said that gender inequality fuelled a bullying environment in CPW & that “the culture” allowed this to prevail. More women in places improves culture. Period! #auspol

I mean it when I say ... there is no going back. To all those feeling demoralised by the events in Parliament last week, pls read my thoughts about political culture change & what's really happening in the halls of power. It's a positive news story. smh.com.au/politics/feder…
