On Valentine's Day 1964 Dr Barnett Stross received a Knighthood for Services to The Arts, which was welcomed throughout the nation & North Staffs in particular His services being non political meant he could influence both Labour & Conservative colleagues alike Stoke-on-Trent CC

A week of events organised by a newly formed Coventry Lidice Shall Live committee, set out to raise £2,000 towards the construction of a new #Lidice. It was launched on the afternoon of Sunday 12th March 1944 with a service held at the City’s bombed-out Cathedral Coventry City Council


Construction work on the #Lidice Rose Garden started on 14th March 1955. Coventry's #LidiceShallLive campaign ended on Saturday 18th March 1944, with a flag day and a dance in the evening at Westfield House; music provided by the Czech Army Dance Band, who played at Tile Hill Workers' Hostel, Duggins Lane, the following night British Embassy Prague Coventry Updates
