Can we pls stop writing EMR notes referring to trans patients like “27 year old adult” instead of “27 year old woman” or “27 year old nonbinary person”? Add in “trans woman” if medically relevant but how ridiculous and erasing to call someone a “27 year old adult.”

I find the biggest contributor to burnout in surgery is being treated w disrespect; I thought this would improve after residency, but when staff or trainees are rude to others or to me, it ruins my day. If we all tried to be kind, I could deal w the long hours and hard work.

I was unaware how often colleagues who are POC have their images/photos used to market the diversity of a program/hospital without their consent. When marketing diversity, CENTER the marginalized community! Only use ppl’s images w their explicit consent on how image will be used.
