Since 1988, the cost of basic needs has skyrocketed — but cash assistance for families living in deep poverty hasn't kept pace. #LiftOurKidsMA #EndDeepPovertyNow #mapoli

Over the past 5 years, thanks to #LiftOurKidsMA supporters, the Legislature has enacted 5 increases to cash assistance grants in the state’s annual budget. Although the Governor cut the fourth increase, the fifth increase just went into effect in April 2025. #EndDeepPovertyNow

The MA Special Legislative Commission to Study Poverty, chaired by Marjorie Decker and Sal DiDomenico published their report which features increases to cash assistance grants as a key recommendation for alleviating poverty. Read more: liftourkidsma.org/action-1
