Thosaigh líon mór daoine ár leanúint le lá nó dhó. Ar an drochuair, bhí scata faisisteach ina measc. Béarla a bhíonn ar siúl acu, ar ndóigh, ach meallann aon ní a bhfuil cuma 'Cheilteach' air iad mar a mheallann cac na cuileanna gorma. Tá cosc curtha ar a bhformhór anois.

Rang Gaeilge ar maidin: níos mó ar an tuiseal ginideach, an cúigiú díochlaonadh, na heisceachtaí nach bhfuil in aon díochlaonadh (ar ndóigh 😂), ceachtanna gramadaí, aistriúchán srl. Bhí meadhrán i mo cheann ina dhiaidh sin 😂 #100daysofGaeilge

Is minic a chastar daoine spéisiúla orm gan choinne nuair a bhím i reilig Ghlas Naíon. Thug an fear seo cuidiú éigin dom:

Blogh den Chré as teagasc Críostaí a foilsíodh i Lováin. Baineadh úsáid as cló Lováine den chéad uaid sa bhliain 1611, rud a fhágann gurb é an dara cló Gaelach is sine é.

OTD 1597 John Norreys asks Cecil for licence to leave Ireland as the Irish not his only enemy. He remained 'but as a sport for such as hate him, and consumes himself without hope of anything but heaps of disgrace for his reward' Norreys never goes home, d. July 1597 #nineyearswar

Invaluable lesson I learned researching this war-always look at what happening where there's no fighting. Looking at battles tells only part of story. Misdirecting enemy operations was a vital Irish (later English) tactic- biggest gun & sharpest sword is no use in the wrong place

It’s St Gobnait’s Day (patron saint of bees and beekeeping). And it’s old Imbolc (pre-1752 calendar) and the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. And I’m celebrating another year round the sun ☀️ Pic: Harry Clarke’s illustration of Gobnait on display National Museum of Ireland last year
