The only *good* way to work (limnology) on the weekend? Recruit your microbiologist (lab-bench loyalist) partner (outdoor enthusiast) to carry the kayak for ya!

It's published!! It's here!! My first first-author paper is out for your viewing pleasure 🎉 🎉 🎉 We found that quagga mussel tissue CNP varies (a lot!) in the upper Great Lakes & impacts mussel excretion rates & stoichiometry 🌊🦪 Check it out!! link.springer.com/article/10.100…

I usually LOVE the smell of campfire, but not like this! In Ithaca, New York— air quality index currently at 160 and still ticking up thanks to the fires in Quebec. It’s a great day to close the windows and wear a KN95!

We’re overdue in announcing a recent publication in #ASLO_LO ASLO. We examined spatial and temporal variability in CO2 and CH4 across 30 temperate ponds and lakes with wonderful @GLEONcollaborators in our #PONDING group. aslopubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.100… (1/4)

Publicly recognizing @KevinAEngland for volunteering is whole entire weekend (two grueling 12 hour days!!) to do field work! My research (& physical health) would quite literally fall apart without his help! #AuthorshipSecured #HeShouldDitchMicrobiologyForEcology

PhD opportunity! Join Bella's lab and work on a collaborative project (that my lab is involved with!) on how changing winters affect lake ecosystems. So excited for this collaboration!

Fresh in Scientific Data! Continental US dataset of annual lake trophic states, led by the amazing Michael F Meyer. This will bring up so many novel research ideas and projects. nature.com/articles/s4159…

Decided to “end” summer on a high note— we’ve sample 27 ponds in the last 12 days! And we’ll add 13 more to the total next week! Kudos to my undergraduate research assistant, Hunter Heyden, for powering through this tough field work with me! I promise, we’ve had a lot of fun!
