π΄σ §σ ’σ ³σ £σ ΄σ Ώ COVID WASTEWATER SURVEILLANCE Scotlandβs Covid wastewater signal has been steadily rising since March and is now at the highest point so far this year. (Iβd love to share the Covid wastewater data for England with you too but the budget for that programme was axed in 2022).

Today marks the final prelim hearing for Module 8 of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry For patient advocates, the process is gruelling, but for #children with #LongCovid, itβs a battle that robs them of the #childhood they once knew. We need meaningful, forward-thinking recommendations.

Today, UK Covid-19 Inquiry has announced the appointment of Dr. Terry Segal as an expert witness on paediatric Long Covid. We welcome this crucial recognition of the need for expert insight to help the inquiry understand the full impact of Long Covid #LongCovid #PaediatricHealth

M8 of UK Covid-19 Inquiry will consider the importance of CO2 monitors and air cleaning units in schools to learn lessons #CleanAir #LongCovid #LongCovidKids

The Children's Rights Organisations also agreed with us, that the inquiry should be considering the adequacy of efforts to make schools safe to remain open. Our thanks to Save the Children UK, Just for Kids Law, Childrenβs Rights Alliance for England, and Centre for Young Lives for their support and advocacy. 26/

mechanisms drive your PEM, pushing through until you crash is going to cause mitochondrial damage and worsening issues. Pacing is an energy management tool that can prevent this. I really love this video from Long COVID Physio describing pacing: youtu.be/USLg5FT86TQ 14/

Nice paper here by Mark Faghyβs group. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Post-exertional submaximal aerobic system impairment/early anaerobiosis is apparent in this cohort with Long Covid and (relatively) mild PEM. Clip of Dr Binita Kaneβs presentation to the joint APPG on ME & Long Covid: In 2025, A young woman is tube-fed, bed bound, and unable to sit up β yet she has no regular NHS support. How did we get here? Fundamentally, because ME was βwrongly psychologisedβ. #MECFS #LongCovid

And just like that we have completed the last patient visit in Derby for ERASE-LC A patient-led study with University of Derby University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS FT Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) and University of Exeter seeking to help people with #LongCovid Thanks to everyone, especially the participants who gave so much to this work.
