While we would like to see federal funding restored ASAP, we are extremely concerned that an agreement that does not include real and structural changes will not resolve the antisemitism and anti-Israeli hate that have become pervasive Columbia University

Tarek Bazrouk assaulted me on the streets of NYC. The Columbia University protest movement just called the charges “bogus” and took his side. This is what Columbia’s culture of antisemitism looks like. A $200 million fine is not going to fix anything. We need real accountability.

BREAKING: Columbia University "incorporates" IHRA definition of antisemitism, appoints Title VI and VII coordinators, and announces partnerships with ADL, Project Shema, Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, and Kalaniyot. They will also no longer meet with CUAD. Nice gestures -- I support

🚨NEW: Columbia University has announced further efforts – which are necessary, but not sufficient – to combat antisemitism on campus. - Adopts IHRA definition of antisemitism. - Appoints Title VI and VII coordinators which will issue an annual report. - Developing antisemitism trainings

Thank you to May Mailman, the White House, and Columbia University’s trustees for seeing this through! We hope that this, along with a comprehensive deal, will lead to a much safer and more stable campus going forward.
