Last month, a group of 7th and 8th grade band members performed for the Isaac Litton Alumni Association banquet luncheon. They learned their music in just a few days, with very little help. They did an outstanding job! Way to represent our band and school with pride.

Welcome to The Groove! Yesterday, we had the first rehearsal of our rock/jazz/pop band. The rhythm section absolutely ROCKED! Excellent job, everyone! Can’t wait for next week 🤘🎸 Thank you Dr. Ripani of the Nashville Youth Jazz Ensemble for helping us “jumpstart” our band 🤘

On Monday, the 7th and 8th Grade Band performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing” for the Black History Month assembly. 8th Grade Band students shared research they completed about the history and lyrics of the song. Great work, 7th and 8th graders! Blurry photo, sharp performance!

Earlier this week, we had a visit from former Litton Lion, Clarence. Clarence is now a senior at McGavock and he came to mentor students as part of a service project. He did an amazing job teaching clarinet players! Thanks, Clarence! Pics are from 2018 and this week. ☺️

Last week was a busy week for band students! These all-star 7th graders performed at the Inglewood Neighborhood Association meeting. The INA have supported the band for years, and they made a donation to our PTSO this year. We are so grateful for their support. Thank you, INA!!

The 5th Grade Band performed this morning during Morning Meeting - in front of the whole school! They did SO well playing and showing their Litton PRIDE. Special thanks to Ms. Kelly for conducting, and the 7th/8th graders who helped us set up and tear down. Great work, 5th grade!

These 6th and 7th graders did an excellent job playing Pomp and Circumstance AND showing their Litton PRIDE at 8th Grade Promotion. Great job and thank you to these all-star performers! Thanks to Ms. Carter and the 8th Grade Team for putting on a wonderful ceremony!

Congratulations to these 5th grade students on earning their black belts in Band Karate! They worked their way through the entire band book with very little help from me. Congrats to ALL the students who earned Band Karate belts this year.I can’t wait to see what they accomplish!
