The live comedy sector survey showed the economic impact was worth £1b+ each year to the UK. We also know that clubs & festivals contribute to the Waitrose effect of a place & generate economic impact locally, helping to sustain hotels, restaurants, taxi's and, ultimately, jobs.

Did you know? The LCA was initially called the Society of British Live Comedy and on 24 April 2020 the first online meeting was set up by Brid Kirby, Owen Donovan & Charlie Perkins. The organisation was quickly renamed the Live Comedy Association and launched on 15 May 2020.

Huge thanks to Lucy Powell MP and Samantha Niblett MP for raising the profile of live comedy in UK Parliament and promising to provide further support. This continues our campaign to lobby for everyone working in the UK sector.
