Fountainbridge pavement has been closed for nearly 10 months. Originally closed for 4 weeks, then 6, then this sign went up. Other pavement is less than 1m in places. Cycle lanes removed. It was community led from the beginning - and they have been led up and down the garden path for over a decade. The council needs to honour its previous commitments if not to seriously erode trust in engaging with us. Let’s get on with delivery.

Congratulations to the Causey and thanks to TEC councillors! Let's see this "shovel ready" project, 18 years (!) in the making, implemented asap.🙂

We've no problem with these extended hours *so long as* there's enough pedestrian space. Please report problems - especially if there's less than 1.5m of clear pavement - to: [email protected]

Reminder: our public meeting is this Thursday evening! We’re also hoping to widen our group of active supporters. If you’re interested in helping us make Edinburgh better for everyday walking, get in touch: DM, email - or just have a chat with us at the meeting!🙂

We had a lively public meeting and AGM last week, featuring disability advocates from Lothian CIL and Transport Convener Cllr Stephen Jenkinson. Read all about it (plus draft minutes) here: bit.ly/43L128S

It's disappointing that TEC didn't consider school travel, pedestrian crossings and pavement widening alongside budgets for active travel and public transport last month. An opportunity missed to target capital ££ where most needed.
