I chose to apply to Hertford College, Oxford because of its reputation of welcoming state schoolers. I sincerely hope that amongst all of the A-level chaos that the admissions team is working hard to ensure offers to those who have been disadvantaged by the marking algorithm are upheld.

#Landrights disputes in #Afghanistan take many forms; some are the result of the #US taking properties for military purposes. This problem was foreseen years ago. Without attention the situation will create grievances/more conflict: nytimes.com/2020/12/08/wor…

Blown away by this brilliant short film from George The Poet 🇺🇬. What a talent. Film is especially poignant given limited news coming out from Uganda today thanks to an internet shutdown during elections. Please watch and think of beautiful Ug today: youtu.be/XWtKz_HFHrk 🖤💛❤️

This. is. my. city. too. And these are my streets too #reclaimthesestreets It’s just a symbol but I feel sad and found comfort in that symbol. When we’re done being sad, then we harness the sadness and anger and sort. this. sh*t. out.

In rural West Sussex for election week and can confirm it’s definitely a two horse race here, with the candidates inching ever closer to the centre ground #quitenichetweet

As ever, my wonderful friend Judy Adoko brings the nuance often missing from the titling discussion: "The state system and the customary system are really very different. It's like trying to change a mango into an orange”

This is appalling. The recolonization of Africa through carbon markets is underway. Company from UAE, COP28 host & major fossil fuel producer, buying up 10% of Liberia so it can continue to pollute. Story in Middle East Eye here: middleeasteye.net/news/liberia-u… 🧵👇🏿
