.Desmos I am loving the new feedback feature. I actually feel like I am helping students learn as they go. I wish there was a way on the summary screen to see where I had already left feedback. Maybe turn the square green or something.

A1: If I had to pick: 7th grade Unit 2, Lesson 2: Introducing Proportional Relationships with Tables. But honestly I say "this is my favorite lesson, all the time" #OpenUpMath

A2: I use menus to practice with percentages and turn my classroom into a diner. Which is always a hit. #OpenUpMath

A3: My favorite educational podcast is Cult of Pedagogy my non-educational favorite is Criminal #OpenUpMath

A4: When I was in 7th grade I got to teach a math lesson about proportions for a Beta Club project. And it just so happens now I teach at that middle school right across the hall from that classroom. #OpenUpMath

A5: My Calculus teacher brought her dog to class 2 days a week. It would say in its crate while she taught the lesson and the roam the room while we were working problems. #OpenUpMath

For decades, the focus of K-12 education has been on reading and math. Social studies and science are given minamal time. Yet here we are in a global pandemic and racial unrest because people lack the basic understanding and principles of history and science. 🤦🏿🤷🏾‍♀️

I made my first digital anchor chart yesterday. I am keeping a slide deck for the students to access while we are virtual. I annotated what the students were saying on zoom with my screen shared. Then went and added the we noticed section after class. #mtbos #openupmath

Admin, embrace your strong outspoken teachers. If you respect them and give them a voice, you may just find they have great ideas & even when they challenge the process it’s not whining or a personal attack but sincere desire for the best for their students. Embrace their passion
