Guide Dog Ziggy (Ziggy the Guide Dog) has returned home after surgery to remove cysts on her eyes. She’s dozy, but it’s gone as well as it could have and if her recovery goes to plan, she’ll be back working in a week or two. Positive vibes, please!
Sorry, but ‘Haha, my dog can’t read!’ (Pointing to Ziggy the Guide Dog harness which says ‘Please don’t distract me’) is not a valid excuse to let your dog disturb my working guide dog!
Security guard came marching up to me and & Ziggy the Guide Dog at a bar last night. I braced myself for a ‘no dogs allowed’ or similar and got ‘let me know if I can help you with anything’! Sad that my experiences make me assume negativity, but a great interaction!
Someone is very happy following her free run with her friends this morning Ziggy the Guide Dog
A cyclist has just passed me while walking in the park while Ziggy the Guide Dog has a free run. Seeing my white cane, the cyclist rang his bell to let me know he was approaching and then said ‘I am about to pass you on your righthand side’. Simple, but SO appreciated!
Dear BBC Strictly ✨, we can’t wait to watch Chris McCausland - Pre-order my autobiography now! chassé his way round the Strictly Ballroom with Dianne. Representation of blind and partially sighted people on shows like Strictly matters 🪩
Hey everyone. In December, I’m putting on a concert for the amazing charity Guide Dogs and have a crowdfunding page to raise money for the costs of the concert. Any donations or RTs will be gratefully received crowdfunder.co.uk/p/christmas-co…
Following on from my earlier post about a lady being rude to me because she ‘didn’t know if I was blind or not’, today my 4 year old told a grown adult off for distracting Ziggy the Guide Dog while she was working. If a 4 year old gets it, I’m not sure why an adult can’t!
Just got on a train (with assistance) with Ziggy the Guide Dog Man across the aisle turns to me and says ‘excuse me, I’m sat opposite you. Please let me know if you need anything while you’re on the train’. How lovely!
