Some of us are at ARUK Thames Valley Network research day today. Alexander Thompson gave an excellent talk this morning on the presymptomatic biochemical landscape of #ALS. Check out Lizzie Dellar's poster on CSF UCHL1 levels in #ALS during the breaks

Great to meet here in Oxford to discuss current and future directions for #proteomics and #metabolomics in #ALS. Thanks to all speakers and attendees, and to MND Research for supporting this meeting!

Congrats to Dr. Steph Fowler and team for their excellent work showing the presence of tau filaments in #extracellularvesicles derived from brain tissue in Alzheimer's disease, out in Nature Neuroscience today. nature.com/articles/s4159… Excited to see more on this!

We are excited to be here in Montreal for MND Research #alsmndsymp! We would be delighted to see you at our posters - see below for our presenters and poster numbers #MND #ALS

We’ve just heard from Lizzie Dellar from Oxford MND Research at #alsmndsymp. She spoke about biomarkers in people who have changes in the C9orf72 gene linked to #MND #ALS but no symptoms of the disease. She found that levels of a protein called UCHL1 were raised in these people before

Come and join us! Research assistant position open at Oxford MND Research Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, working on collecting neuroimaging data in #ALS and #FTD. Previous research experience with humans is essential. This post would suit a #Psychology or #Neuroscience graduate. See link below for info.

Excellent talk by Lizzie Lizzie Dellar from the group on discovery and validation of early biomarkers in #ALS at the Oxford Neuroscience Symposium this week.

The Oxford MND Research team enjoyed the day at the Oxford #MDUK Neuromuscular Centre meeting yesterday. In the #ALS/#MND session Alex spoke on our studies of at-risk pre-symptomatic populations, and Kevin on the path from pre-clinical models to experimental medicine.

Also contributing were Beatrix with her poster on long-read sequencing of #C9orf72 HRE and Lizzie Dellar with her poster on #ExtracellularVesicle -based biomarker discovery in CSF.

Very pleased to share our review in Molecular Neurodegeneration, assessing evidence for #ExtracellularVesicle associated #TDP43. We highlight knowledge gaps relating to its biomarker usage and possible involvement in seeding of templated aggregation in #ALS, #FTD and #LATE …arneurodegeneration.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11…

So pleased to see my science buddy Darragh O'Brien presenting his fantastic work using HDX mass spectrometry in neurotherapeutics here at the ARUK Thames Valley Research Day 🍊
