Mega love to Sir Geoff Palmer who has recently passed. Scotland’s first Black professor and a tireless defender of human rights. Rest in power. ❤️

Delighted to have played a small part in the third of this series marking 50th, 100th and 150th of Cockburn Association (The Edinburgh Civic Trust) Association, the oldest conservation body in the country. It's a wonderful tale of civic activism and making 'good trouble'! Looking forward to book launch later today

The wonderful ‘Lichfield Angel’ which was discovered during excavations at Lichfield Cathedral in 2003. Dating to around 800 AD, the sculpture probably formed the corner of a shrine chest, possibly that of St Chad (d.672). 📸 My own. #SaxonSunday #SundayStonework #Lichfield

There is no amount of counter argument that will persuade me that Trans people shouldn’t have respect. In every aspect of life there will be people who push against the edges of what benefits them - in sport, welfare etc. Trans people have always existed & to deny them is wrong.

Some very sad images in this report of the recent demolition of St Ninian's Parish Church, Greenock. Designed by Church of Scotland architect Harry Taylor and built 1959-61, the bold Dalle de Verre stained glass cross was by John Lawrie. All now gone.😢 inverclydenow.com/in-pictures-de…

The children killed in Gaza had names, and favourite subjects in school. They wanted to be teachers, doctors and astronauts when they grew up - the same as children in the UK and across the world. They were, and still are, someone's everything: their entire universe. Children

Meanwhile, those stonemasons in the Middle Ages: Mason: So, what should I work on today boss? Master mason: Just a standard Tuesday. Start with a constipated ape-demon. Mason: No probs. Master mason: Then help out Steve on the sculpture of a woman pulling open her labia.
