We have been talking all about Autumn in P1 this week, so we decided to go on an Autumn hunt in our playground. We found lots of signs of Autumn, like different coloured leaves and pine cones! 🍂

(P2 Writing) "This is not a stick..." It's a horse/magic wand/fishing rod/marching stick/magic paint brush....so many amazing and imaginative ideas.

P7 have enjoyed beginning their Google Workspace badges. They have smashed Docs bronze and silver and are on their way to gold! @MidDigiLearn

P2 have had fun creating puppets of the Katie Morag characters to help them retell and create new stories.

P5 were very intrigued by the stories and architecture surrounding Rosslyn Chapel today. Back at school, a drama session ensued, relating to the lives of young stone masons. More sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday. Big thanks to Douglas and Sarah from the chapel.

Another medal in p3, we have a blue belt in the building! Big congratulations on your first place win, what an achievement 👏

Thank you so much Rosslyn Chapel for leading an amazing trip for P1 today! We had so much fun looking for dragons and green men in the Chapel. We then created our own dragons and became dragons in a drama session! 🐉

So many inquisitive engineers in p3 today at our STEM lego workshop. Can't believe we had 7 year olds building motorised parking barriers! Get ready workforce, the next generation coming are of a different calibre. Especially if they're from Loanhead 💪

P3 have been comparing numbers using the greater than lesser than symbols. We learnt that the "hungry alligator" ( > < ) always eats the number that is greater. The number that is least is never part of his feast! We made some fab reminders for our maths wall!

Another p3 wider achievement to share! The brownies have gained an absolute gem of a member after she made her Brownie promise. Congratulations!

Thanks to Skanska for a super LEGO STEM workshop this afternoon for Nursery and P1. We had a wonderful time working with in pairs to build different insects. Super team work from all! 🐞 🕷️ 🦋 👷

What a fabulous Friday for P1! We had some buddy time this morning and then we went to the library, to hear a story and choose some books. 📚 We wish all our families a safe and wonderful October holidays!🍂

A day of active learning for P5. A mini autumn topic starting with identifying leaves using Google Lens; measuring & recording data in a Docs table; using the leaf photos to create a Slideshow and finally, creative art. We couldn't 'be-leave' how much we could do!🤣🍁🍂

P1 have had such a busy week learning all about Diwali ! 🪔 Our lovely learners enjoyed making their own diya lamps using salt dough (which they also made!). They even shared their learning with the whole school at assembly. 🥰

We also enjoyed exploring a pumpkin and two of our learners even helped to carve a face on it. 🎃 “It’s got an angry face like my pumpkin” -C “I’m making pumpkin soup” - L “We should leave it outside and see if any trick or treaters leave candy!!” - T
