P4-7 assembly focused on Anne Frank, and the forming of the United Nations after the end of WW2. The 12th of June is the anniversary of Anne's birthday, and it was important for us to recognise the rights that we now enjoy thanks to the United Nations . Jen Price UNICEF UK RRSA #LochsidePS

P4-7 assemblies, this term, have focused on managing our "hidden chimp" and keeping it in the Green Zone. In the Green Zone, we know we have our strongest friendships and learning focus. A Lochside learner is a successful learner. Zones of Regulation Chimp Management | Prof Steve Peters

P4-7 have created charters linked to UNCRC articles 28, 29, 19, 31 and 12 and our own Lochside vision, values and aims. We are aiming to be confident, effective, successful and responsible in all that we do. A Lochside learner is challenged. Jen Price UNICEF UK RRSA UNICEF UK #LochsidePS

Today as the children explored this beehive and tasted the honey they used Emotion Works blue & orange cards to support their discussion. Evie said “it’s so Yum, it smells sweet, it tastes tingly” 💙🧡

This week, P4-7, at assembly, focused on our values part of The Lochside Way. Our learners were able to directly link our values to UNCRC articles 28 and 29; the right to an education and the goals of education. A Lochside learner is a successful learner. Jen Price UNICEF UK RRSA UNICEF UK

We were excited this week to add new books to the Rights Respecting section of our library. We like to link the stories to the corresponding UNCRC articles as this supports our learning journey to fully understanding the rights we have all had since birth. Jen Price UNICEF UK RRSA UNICEF UK

In the Rainbow Room we came up with the ‘regu’ bubble. It keeps you regulated and safe so you can’t be easily triggered and in turn can’t burst your bubble by reacting negatively. Your regububble gives you time to process a trigger and ask an adult for help Emotion Works

The One where Mrs Mac gets a Delivery. A very strange afternoon taught us a very valuable lesson; sharing is caring and it makes everyone happy. In Lochside, C is for caring and S is for sharing. Successful Learners. Emotion Works #LochsidePS Zones of Regulation
