LATE London Teachers πβοΈ this Morning teachers are learning about and discussing reading aloud with Dr Sam Duncan for our opening key note #teamenglish

My poetry workshop at LATE London Teachers πβοΈ today is FULLY BOOKED! Wow. People love poetry. Who knew?! π

Reading aloud is *so* important! As well as being read to by my parents as a kid, which I loved, I had amazing teachers at Poynton High School who read aloud in English classes and showed us how important it is as a way of learning about texts π 1/2

Thomas Martell Just been to a wonderful workshop @londonLATE exploring the variety of ways primary classrooms βdoβ reading. Phonics being a small part- guided reading, listening to stories, telling and retelling, drawing and playing. Phonics is there and useful but part of a wider culture

@mtptproject LATE London Teachers πβοΈ mine and Lisa Lis βs children warmly welcomed today during the key note and workshops (as well as being the focus of her wonderful and thought provoking workshop!) and πΎππππβ¨ΧΧΧΧ (she/her) βs brilliant closing poetry reading

Had a fantastic time LATE London Teachers πβοΈ and brilliant workshop with πΎππππβ¨ΧΧΧΧ (she/her) ! So many writing prompts and ideas!!

Eng chat I wasnβt at Lit Drive but the week before I was at LATE London Teachers πβοΈ and I took away a lot! I think one of my main ones was the emotional connection that reading texts aloud can create which also aids memory. I also thought oral story telling and itβs links to writing was important

Barbara Bleiman π Education is Conversation We had a brilliant presentation by ERA LATE London Teachers πβοΈ yearly planning meeting yesterday! Planning to collaborate across the year and invite them to a conference. Would love to know what #TeamEnglish think of the grammar resources + lit archives

British Shakespeare Association 2025 Conference Dr Maria Shmygol π» NATE Diversity in English LATE London Teachers πβοΈ Iβm looking for a few more contributors to the next edition of #TeachingShakespeare Iβd love some work from as diverse a range of teachers as possible and on the myriad settings heβs taught in.
