It's time to mark the end of an era in our old labs with a new group photo! As we say goodbye to our old building at #Nijenborgh4, we are very excited for our next chapter in the brand new #FeringaBuilding! @StratinghInst University of Groningen

A newly designed enzyme containing boron shows promising catalytic properties currently not found in nature. It could lead to applications in fields such as medicine or green chemistry. Presenting my results from the Roelfes Group (find us as @roelfesgroup on BS) at #nordbioII in Stockholm. A great event so far, lots of interesting biocatalysis.

Lars Lars Longwitz presented his work on Boron catalysis in designer enzymes at #biocat2024 in Hamburg. Check out his poster P4-2 and find out more about this remarkable new mode of activation in biocatalysis.

Fantastic start of 2025 for the group. Our own Lars Longwitz won the University of Groningen FSE Postdoc prize for 2024. This prize celebrates his excellence in research and great potential of becoming a scientific leader. Well well deserved Lars! 👏 @StratinghInst

A good start to the new year: I was awarded the Postdoc Prize 2024 of the Faculty of Science and Engineering in Groningen! Very happy to receive this award to recognize my achievements in the Roelfes Group (find us as @roelfesgroup on BS) ! Now, I am looking for a new adventure!

After more than 4 years abroad, I am going back to Germany to join Universität Hamburg as a lecturer of organic chemistry! I will miss Groningen immensely, but now it is time for something new!

After my first week at Universität Hamburg, I am even more excited than before. Lots of interesting chemistry, motivated students, welcoming colleagues and a super-team of supporters, especially in the IT. I can't wait to give my first lectures in "Hörsaal A" next week. 🦥
