Originally the Corporation Pier at Hull, it's name was changed to the Victoria Pier at the time of a visit by the monarch in 1854. The pier was used for the New Holland ferry service, together with services to Barrow Haven and Barton-upon-Humber.

Did you know that there used to be a Duke of Kingston upon Hull? His country seat was at Holme Pierrpont in Nottingham. I’ve been here & discovered my 9 x grandfather Christopher Jennison is buried there. I’ve yet to discover what the relationship was between the Duke & my family
