Sir Bill Kirkup’s report on East Kent maternity services again revealed that failure to listen to mothers leads to sub standard care. For 3 yrs I tried to get the NMC to take action but was blocked by the Maternity Panel each time. Vested interests led by the RCM ruled supreme.

I cannot bear to watch Mat Hancock picking up £400k in the jungle on top of his MP salary, whilst nurses and carers have to go on strike for a cost of living rise to prevent them having a wage reduction!

I am looking at abuse of care assistants recruited in India who receive special permits and visas but risk becoming modern day slaves because of their restrictive contracts. Any help would be appreciated- we must take care overseas staff are fully supported.

Could not agree more! The overwhelming consensus is that failure to invest significantly in adult social care will radically undermine the NHS and this step is a glaring example.

Just returning to Westminster following months of superb care from NHS staff in Leeds and York and cannot believe the new workforce reform proposals haven’t a single mention about pay! How on earth can retention be achieved unless we reward staff adequately!
