Safeguarding on houses in the Shimmer Estate - put in place to protect land the government may use for the HS2 project - have been lifted, almost 3 years after the HS2 route through Mexborough was scrapped. We spoke to Sean Gibbons, former Doncaster Cllr, about the safeguarding:

What a shambles! HS2 Ltd put the route through here using out of date maps! They didn't know the estate was even there. Some of it hadn't even been built. Another shining example of #hs2 incompetence causing misery to anyone in it's way
