Today marks 85 years since over 3000 #Lowestoft schoolchildren & their teachers were #Evacuated away from the threat of wartime bombing & invasion by rail from #Lowestoft station. This Sat along with Wherry Lines we will be hosting their annual summer reunion. #CommunityRail

On this day in 1940 3000 schoolchildren were evacuated by trains from #Lowestoft station to safety in #Notts & #Derbyshire away from the treat of wartime bombing & invasion. All former Lowestoft evacuees are invited to their Summer Reunion at Lowestoft station this Saturday

Our dear friends at FriendsOfGlossopStn held a special event today 85 years on from when over 600 children from #Lowestoft were evacuated to #Glossop.
