More train travels for some of the team this week! A delightful visit to our site in Cornwall. We are increasing our use of sustainable travel for projects as much as possible. Habits are changing rapidly with over 50% of our team now using an electric / hybrid vehicle or bike!

We are delighted to have received planning consent for a replacement dwelling on the Cliff Tops in south Wales. The new house makes the most of spectacular views across the Bristol Channel, with generous living areas at first floor opening onto a carefully screened balcony.

We are absolutely thrilled to have received planning consent for this NPPF Paragraph 84 home in Leicestershire. The house is being built on the site of an old equestrian facility through the careful dismantling, cataloguing and reusing of materials from existing barns on site.

Delighted to have won an LABC Building Excellence Award for our sustainable earth-shelter dwelling, Clifford Reservoir, alongside some amazing projects. Looking forward to the Grand Finals 24th January 2025

We are looking forward to attending TPAS Cymru’s Placemaking with People conference this Thursday. We will be sharing our experiences working with co-housing groups to develop their communities in our talk, “Working with a Community to Create a Place”. @tpascymru

Recently we mapped the projects we have undertaken in our hometown of Penarth and were delighted to discover that we have touched nearly every corner of this beloved place; from benches to contemporary homes to housing, we have had the privilege of helping to shape Penarth.

We had a beautifully sunny day for our studio visit to one of our recently completed projects, the award-winning Clifford Reservoir, a retrofitted former reservoir now earthshelter dwelling in the stunning hills of Herefordshire.

As hard as we work, it is great to have a sunny afternoon to relax together and our annual summer BBQ provides just that. Thank you to everyone for their hard work, whether they were hosting, cooking, entertaining or just providing great company!

Every Autumn, Chris Loyn heads up to Machynlleth to teach at the Centre for Alternative Technology. Sketching is central to what we do as architects, and we enjoy the chance to share our knowledge and experience with the next generation. The scenery is not half bad either.

There is nothing better than constructing hand-built physical models for exploring complex geometries and that is just what we’ve been doing this week for a series of sustainable woodland cabins we are designing.

So much fun to see our Ty Newydd last night on Wales Home of the Year! The house overlooks the Bristol Channel and the judges loved the views and our contemporary design. It's great to be featured again this year – we wish all the houses the best for the finals in a few weeks.

Permission granted for this replacement dwelling in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The three-storey timber and stone house was designed following the principles of Feng Shui, showcasing amazing views whilst sitting discretely within the landscape.

Our project ‘Sainte Adresse’ will feature in ‘Cartrefi Cymru’ on S4C by Boom Cymru at 20.25 tonight. Sainte Adresse knits into the existing site topography providing 30 new homes in a mix of 2 bedroom apartments and 3 bedroom duplexes with fantastic views across Cardiff Bay.
