We celebrated our Accelerated BSN Class of 2023 at an Honors and Pinning Ceremony in May. "It is hard to believe that less than 16 months ago, we all embarked on this nursing school journey together," said Kathleen Kochendorfer (ABSN '23). "Boy, did we learn!"

Our CARE Pathway to the BSN team received the READI (Racial Justice, Equity, Anti-racism, Diversity, and Inclusion) Catalyst Award at the Office of Institutional DEI at Loyola Chicago End-of-Year Celebration. The CARE Pathway is a model of evidence-based strategies to recruit and retain students of color.

At Dedication to the Profession earlier this month, we celebrated our Accelerated BSN students starting their clinicals. "We are all sitting here today because soon enough, our hands will provide care for patients in their true times of need," said student Elizabete Dudorane.

During a 10-day service immersion in Lourdes, France, members of the Loyola Nursing community served people from around the world who came on pilgrimage. The group also traveled to Loyola, Spain, the home of St. Ignatius, where they celebrated Mass in the Chapel of Conversion.

Prof. Alex Nowak was accepted as a fellow at the IOMC. As a fellow, Prof. Nowak joins a stellar interdisciplinary group of professionals with diverse experiences, education, and achievements and a desire to work toward positive change in healthcare and public health.

Prof. Regina Conway-Phillips recently completed the AACN's Diversity Leadership Institute. She was also elected to serve as co-chair of the Leadership Succession Committee of the AACN's Diversity Equity Inclusion Leadership Network (DEILN). Congrats!

Look how we've grown! Our CARE Pathway to the BSN has nearly tripled in size since its start in 2021 and now includes 63 undergrads. The CARE (Collaboration, Access, Resources, and Equity) Pathway provides holistic support to nursing students of color.

ABSN students, as well as our faculty and staff, recently packed medical supplies at project C.U.R.E. for countries in need. This new service tradition is a partnership with Health Sciences Campus Ministry. Thank you for your service!
