🚨Delighted to share a new CAST policy briefing I've led with colleagues Andy Jordan, Irene Lorenzoni and Lucas Geese on the impact of politics on ambitious climate policies, as played out with the German 'heat hammer' of last year cast.ac.uk/wp-content/upl…

As Department for Energy Security and Net Zero officials give evidence to Public Accounts Committee on government's plans to decarbonise home heating, some politicians and policymakers may want to learn from what happened in Germany in this policy area. Our new CAST briefing does just that! tinyurl.com/2uxe9kra

The British public are pretty clear on how they see those involved in the recent riots. "Thugs", "Rioters", "Racist", and "Far-right" are words a majority of Brits would use. "People with legitimate concerns" is chosen by just 16%, while the "far-left" is picked by just 7%.

Proud to have worked on this under the superb leadership of Lucas Geese! We highlight the need for TADA researchers to have a sufficient qualitative understanding of climate politics and policy in the country cases they study to overcome conceptual challenges

🍊Fresh out! 🗒️In their note, Lucas Geese, Chantal Sullivan-Thomsett @chantal-st.bsky.social, John Kenny, Andy Jordan & Irene Lorenzoni explore conceptual complexities inherent to the nature of #climatechange and the impact this has on text-as-data 👉 bit.ly/3M48jZ3 #OA #TADA #comparativepolitics #policy

During the UK election campaign I noticed that nobody was talking about the areas central to the work done by CAST (cars, flying, diet, heating). AND, as a qual researcher, I love analysing party manifestos.🤓 Hey presto! This resulted in a blog! cast.ac.uk/the-2024-uk-el…
