It's important to never make assumptions about what #nonspeaking #Autistic people want. I didn't know, until my son could type, that he actually hated plaid! His whole life, he suffered with plaid, until he told me he hated it. So, I promptly removed all plaid from his wardrobe.

Imagine stopping a wheelchair user to say “Oh it’s so nice to see people like you leaving the house! I’m loving watching all your friends playing sports at the moment!” Just…what were you thinking?

Being #ActuallyAutistic I find that friendships are difficult bc 1: People tend to lose "tolerance" of me over time 2: People lack accountability which is required for connection on my part. This is usually not an issue with fellow autistics, but has been at times.

What many people don't realize about ADHD is that our ability to do stuff is limited for the day, and is stronger in the morning. If I work a full time morning shift, by the time I get home I'll be rendered useless and will struggle to cook and take care of myself.

I wish people talked more about the guilt that can come from cutting out or distancing yourself from family for the sake of your welfare

Someone get me in contact with Nadhim Zahawi because I've had enough of seeing countless children not get support. It absolutely sickens me and I'd do literally anything to be the one to change how things are.

I have NEVER seen a single organisation be completely inclusive for autism or disabilities. How can people be so ignorant. Every time the answer is 'people don't think'. Well I'm tired of being the one to suffer the consequences when you can't go out of your way for a second.

People go around calling disabled people 'remarkable' for simply living and doing human shit, but then they refuse to give accommodations that would allow disabled people to actually do 'remarkable' shit. Exhausting.

"A new therapy aimed at infants can reduce autistic behaviour and the likelihood the children will go on to be diagnosed with autism before they reach school age" Why is an autism diagnosis a bad thing? Autism 'symptoms'? It's #NotADisease theguardian.com//society/2021/…
