Version 3 of compromise regarding the President of European Commission is coming out. Current German Minister of Defence seems like a good candidate. However the efford of EU Council to decide behind close doors some things that should be decided by the #EP is bitter sweet.

The candidate for the President of European Commission, Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen, spoke in French, English and German for 32 minutes and 59 seconds. I think that her speech has increased her chances to become the first woman President of the European Commission.

With not very much "backup" votes Mrs. Ursula von der Leyen became the President of European Commission . The total of 733 MEPs voted. She needed 374 votes. In favor was 383 MEPs and 327 against. "Vote for me is vote for strong Europe" she said.

The info showing China's attempts to influence EU documents regarding its role in the corona crisis, didn't surprise me. What surprises, worries and terrifies me is that apparently the attempt was successful. I will ask EC for information. If confirmed, it is a serious problem

On Friday we celebrated 16 years in the #EU. Our membership is essential for the stability and prosperity of our country. Sixteen is not quite adulthood, which will hopefully bring a little more mature behavior of our country in the EU. We are close.

MP Babiš is proud of the Czech contribution to research for a COVID-19 vaccine of 750 000 Euro. What is he proud of exactly? That he saved money by giving one of the lowest contributions of all countries?

Europeans can be proud for what they managed in the past 70 yrs when the peaceful collaboration came to life. I believe that with our help we will continue it in the years to come. It is truely necessary beacuse only together,we can suceed in todays complicated world. #EuropeDay

If we will use the "our" money to renews the economics of 20th century,it will be harder to get out of the crises and we will have to deal with other problems. This is one of the tasks the government has now. Unfortunately, they aren't able to deal with tasks even prior this one.

According to Andrej Babiš, solidarity with the countries that are most effected by coronovairus has "certain limits". Though it is ok for EU to lend money that is not in the budget, so the EU can help poorer countries and farmers... I have not been so ashamed in a long time.

Hundreds of billions of CZK that we've recieved from EU for years are ok. Thanks to them we have lower debt. But to support countries who have been more affected by COVID is bad...Andrej Babiš showed not only lack of solidarity and empathy, but also his incompetence and stupidity

This crises will of course lower the EU budget - maybe even CZE will get less.  Andrej Babiš in this sees not enough solidarity with those who got used to EU money and start taking them for granted. Or is he afraid that our (his) companies will loose this support?

Min of Fin of DE knows why he says that the German economy does not exist, but only the EU one. We are in the same boat.We need to try together to get the wind to the sails again.Even though it means that one country might need to help the other. Is it so difficult to understand?

CZE twice approved the program of loans from EIB.Once during the mtg of ministers (Mrs. minister Alena Schillerová had a sub), then by PMs. But according to the interview at Hospodářské noviny Mrs. minister found out that the program is disadvantageous. How does this gov. make decisions?

Ludek Niedermayer (@ludeknieen) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Loans for SMEs by EIB are disadvantageous according to Alena Schillerová: apparently we are getting cheaper loans and some other countries not. To be exact only 6countries are getting more expensive loans.Sorry, but to say that the project is disadvantageous for us is hardly proven

Courage, solidarity, responsibility. These words resonated in EC's presentation #nextGenerationEU. We have a good plan, do not be afraid to start it. If we act together, progress towards more modern society, thanks to investments into economy, digitalisation & sustainability.

It isn't true that the #EU money for the fight against the crises will lead to neglecting the traditional sources, eg. cohesion politics. But also thanks to this aid our standard of living is getting closer to the rest of the EU. Which will mean less EU money in the future.

For us, the recovery of overall EU demand is as important as stabilising our domestic situation and one is not possible without the other! theguardian.com/world/2020/may…

Government wants to finance the construction of an atomic plant with a state loan. For this contraversial project, we will borrow 5% of our GDP. EU wants to borrow for economic restart of its members also circa 5% of EU budget. But all of the suden that is too much for Andrej Babiš
