A 2013 synthesis report of the ICT Consultation in support of the High-Level Meeting on Disability and Development of the sixty-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly showed that removing barriers to accessing ICTs by persons with disabilities is of importance.

Youth with disabilities are amongst the most marginalized and poorest of all the world’s youth. UNESCO estimates that 98% of children with disabilities in developing countries do not attend school and 99% of girls with disabilities are illiterate. #InclusiveEmploymentUG
