Using the The Caddisfly Collective light trap design to catch mayflies and caddisflies - and it works! Lots of Caenis and several species of caddis. All within just an hour of trapping. Oh, and HUGE numbers of midges!!!

Today marks the last day of elevated carbon dioxide (eCO2) at #BIFoRFACE for 2022. We have been exposing 3 patches of mature woodland to the levels of CO2 we expect to see globally in 2050. This is our 6th year of the experiment. The video is the sound of FACE system turning off.

Over the last two days at #nanoporeconf we've taken advantage of #realreal time nanopore technology to sequence & assemble a draft reference genome for the Large Copper butterfly, which is extinct in the UK. This data will be made freely available in an open database, stay tuned!
