It's been a fabulous weekend researching folk monsters of the North East in preparation for my final young people's writing workshop darlingtonhipp! (It's Halloween, you have to have a spooky edition.) Thanks to Durham Book Festival & New Writing North for bringing me on board!

A bit late on this, but I had a wonderful time talking at this panel about my experience publishing my article on fantasy YA love triangles (ijyal.ac.uk/article/10.248ā¦). Loved hearing about the other contributors' fascinating work - thanks YA Studies Association & International Journal of Young Adult Literature for having me!

I had a wonderful time visiting the newly opened Farrell Centre this afternoon, where I attended Stephanie Lyttle's "Designing Place through Creative Writing" workshop. I've come away full of thoughts about the city! šŗš

It's been so lovely to witness the process of the gorgeous new Farrell Centre opening, and be part of the first weekend! It's open to the public from tomorrow, with lovely things going on for all ages farrellcentre.org.uk/explore

It was a pleasure to be a part of the module this week and chat all things YA! Thanks @LRPearson for the invitation and Bridget Hamilton for being so fantastic to "interview" (getting to live out my childhood talk show host dream a little!)

Excited to be leading this next week! Come along and be inspired by the beauty and poignancy of Tyne & Wear Archives holdings.
