Today, BC gov announced they're making public drug use illegal. Public use has not increased because of decrim. People use outside for lack of alternatives. We've been calling for more OPSs, treatment & housing for 25 yrs. If we'd been listened to, there'd be no issue today.

I’m so worried about the state of our public discourse right now. We need to be able to have nuanced conversations on tough issues like drug policy, because we are in the midst of a terrible drug toxicity crisis that kills 22 people in Canada every day.

There were 3 reviews done about CTS in Ontario that were released yesterday and not one of them says that sites should close. What is the purpose of spending time, energy and money on these if government is not going to listen to the outcomes of these reviews or even evidence?

We have NEVER had enough treatment services to meet the need during the last 6 years of Conservatives in power in Ontario. Pretending that 20 beds is going to be enough as they force the closure of sites that save thousands from overdose is incompetent and totally reprehensible.
