Very similarly to Dosbarth Gwenyn, Dosbarth Broga started the new topic ‘why are all living things important?’. We worked together this afternoon to create mind maps and research ‘what does friendship look like?’ Also looking at the qualities of friendship.

As part of our topic, we are learning to look after ourselves and others. This afternoon we have been planning and preparing how to sell our children in need bracelets to help raise money for those in need. They will be on sale from Monday 16th Oct - Nov 13th or until sold out.

This term’s Christian Value is Humility. During our immersion day today, we have been learning about what being humble means. We read a story about a very boastful and mean turtle who never put others first. At the end of the day we created mindful doodle turtles.

This Friday we learned about how pandemics have occurred throughout history. We even got to try our hand at making plague bags. They smelled lovely!

On Wednesday our Y5 children enjoyed a very special visit from A&SAnimalEncounters where they learned about unusual and unique animal adaptations. We had such a wonderful time meeting the animals. See the video: youtu.be/OXbJ-OWqAxo

Here at MCPS we want our children to feel as comfortable in school as they do at home. In Y5 we are introducing indoor and outdoor shoes. If you have a spare pair of slippers at home, please send them in with your child to keep in school as their ‘indoor’ shoes. Thank you 😊

A huge well done to our children who received the golden book award last week. A special mention to all who went over and above to receive a positive note too. We are very proud of you all!

Year five will be up-cycling old books into something beautiful to sell at their Jubilee stall next Wednesday. If you have any unwanted children’s paperback books that have seen better days, we would be very grateful of any donations. Thank you ☺️

Year 5 worked hard to make a card to remember the hard work, dedication and warm smile of HRH Queen Elizabeth II. We filled it with special memories and Mrs Hunt took it to Windsor to lay it with the special tributes and flowers.

It was lovely to welcome Reverend Becca into Mrs Keyse’s class today! We enjoyed learning all about Pentecost and planning an assembly for the rest of the school.
