A stagnant air mass in place across the upper Great Lakes means another day of hazy conditions due to wildfire smoke stuck over the region. It is likely that smoke will linger Tuesday...but we may see improving conditions Wednesday.

Smoky skies continue today, but a potential change is on the way as winds are expected to turn more southwesterly by midweek, which should shove most of the smoke out of the region. This should also support a warming trend for the latter half of the week.

#TuesdayTip: For safety, make sure your vehicle headlights are accurately aimed. You can do this by parking your car within 20 feet of a flat wall. Turn your headlights on, get out of the driver’s seat and check from a center position to see if both headlights point straight

Just an isolated afternoon shower or storm possible this afternoon with continued hazy skies. A warming trend expected Thursday onward with occasional low-end shower/storm chances to wrap up the work week.

We know that it seems construction season goes on forever and everyone is tired of orange barrels, but the men and women working to fix Michigan's roads need you to stay vigilant, put aside distractions, and slow down in work zones. Their lives depend on it. #TZDTuesday
