Glad to celebrate the end of the 2025 legislative session at midnight yesterday with my seatmate on the floor of the Senate of Maryland, State Senator Mary Washington! We passed a balanced budget and some good bills to help support Marylanders during these challenging times.

The 2025 Legislative Session is officially in the books and was one of the most consequential 90 days for the State of Maryland in a generation. We balanced the budget, took major steps to lower energy bills, and fought back against the federal chaos to protect all Marylanders.

I am in constant contact with BGE, as I have been throughout the day as they attempted to make repairs in time. The locations and length of rolling outages will be determined in consultation with PJM, the regional grid operator, and are likely to begin in 1-2 hours. Customers

As of about 30 minutes ago, BGE informed me that the impacted substation has been repaired. Around 4,000 customers in Howard County were impacted for just under 30 minutes. Service has since been restored with no additional need for outages as long as the repair holds.
