700,000 people in the UK earning more than the Prime Minister & some GPs do earn more than the PM Why the Govt feels this is relevant at this time is beyond understanding Funding is about better care for patients, with employing & retaining GPs a priority pulsetoday.co.uk/news/practice-…

GPs are being threatened if they don’t reply to an online message within a few hrs. However if we diagnose lung cancer, patients wait over 2 months. Where are your priorities ⁦NHS England⁩ ⁦Department of Health and Social Care⁩ - all patients deserve better but this new attack on GPs is wrong

Well said, David Likewise pts referred by GPs (accepted by specialties) forced to wait in ED (wasting both ED time & capacity as well as miserable for them) prior to admission & a friend was recently advised an 8 wk delay for RadioTx for her Breast Ca The NHS is broken

Exactly what General Practice warned NHSE, DHSC, Stephen Kinnock & Wes Streeting This is the opposite of continuity of care & will further exacerbate health inequalities but most of all, it’s NOT SAFE Increasingly ICBs recognising 100% contractual compliance impossible = broken contract

So after paying for my uni tuition that the boomers got for free, I now have to pay tax on my pension contributions when the boomers didn't, just to make sure that the boomers get an even more generous state pension with their final salary pensions, of which I will get neither.

GP Crisis is being ignored despite the many reports 5 Reports in one place - they all suggest GPs should be funded, continuity of care is needed, more GPs and a better GP to patient ratio, it’s worse in poorer areas. Yet we have Wes Streeting at war with GPs Unnecessary 🤷🏻‍♂️

Often hard to get local MPs to understand specific GP problems & influence decisions to improve GP access Take for example ILFORD NORTH where GP to patient ratios are some of the worst in the country & aren’t improving 2661 patients/GP up 510 since 2018 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 2257 patients per GP

In 30years I have never been this upset with the words coming out of Government This includes a plethora of Tory Health Secretaries I am not part of BMA leadership I am just a GP who gives up his time freely to advocate for patients, the NHS & make sure the facts are correct

Stephen Kinnock No patients held to ransom No industrial action Just millions of online consults delivered everyday by amazing GP teams Meanwhile patient safety concerns flagged from >1000 practices serving 14m pts nationwide Talk to me, Stephen If your dept had, we could’ve avoided all this

Stephen Kinnock It’s not the GPs that are the problem…… It’s you, and the rest of the useless arrogant lying The Labour Party We see straight through you and cannot wait for May to vote you out of every council seat for the huge betrayal of our NHS

Day 31 of posting this until.Wes Streeting comes to the table with a credible offer on pay and jobs. I wonder how high he will let this number get?

The funding given to GPs to run their practices has been cut in real terms by 20% The average is now £169 per patient per year, but many practices receive less and in most cases this is in poorer areas with worse health outcomes This isn’t enough Wes Streeting & you know it

The Government Wes Streeting Stephen Kinnock Department of Health and Social Care say that they have recruited over 2000 more GPs The problem is that they have not retained them Retention requires funding which they aren’t providing There are unemployed & under employed GPs And there is a long way to go

There are 6300 Neighbourhood centres already in England in walking distance of everyone But instead of investing in them Wes Streeting Department of Health and Social Care have decided to spend your Tax £££ on new centres Will be more expensive - Last time they tried they didn’t work and cost more
