The result of a totally bonkers decision to remove the Resident Labour Market Test for domestically-trained doctors, meaning they can't be preferred for NHS jobs. Absolutely insane when we have such a supposed shortage of doctors!

Resident doctors in our region are sadly affected by this. Doctors have today declined offers elsewhere to become radiologists. A specialty without enough consultants. Now that’s in the lurch thanks to NHS England Workforce, Training and Education. All offers must be guaranteed. Followed by an investigation.

Furious that every recent error from organisations that run recruitment or exams ends up having a devastating impact on Resident Doctor colleagues. There is a very thin line between “error” & negligent disregard. This is utterly unacceptable.

Catastrophic incompetence yet again from NHS England Workforce, Training and Education Time and time again NHS England Workforce, Training and Education fails resident doctors through its calamitous mismanagement. One or two errors are learning opportunities. Repeated failures, without correction or redress, is a catastrophic lack of leadership.

Recruitment for CT/ST1 including upgrades has ground to a halt in the entirety of Scotland wales and England, no new offers, no new upgrades, for an undisclosed amount of time. And we’re supposed to be thankful because they’re trying to fix it? This system needs ripping down.
