Now online in New Phytologist 'Isoform-resolved genome annotation enables mapping of tissue- specific betalain regulation in amaranth'. In the revision process we added metabolic data and functional validation of the new flower color regulator. nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/share/QJIGGFGV…

My first interview is out! Thanks to Hanna Berger & Die Blattmacher-Team for giving me the opportunity to talk about my way to #PlantScience & my former PhD project - optimizing #rapeseed protein for human nutrition: shorturl.at/rDNX1 Pflanzenforschung.de #plantsciencerocks

Jeffrey Ross-Ibarra receives the National Academy of Sciences prize in Food and Agriculture for his amaizing use of evolution to understand where we came from and where we can go!

#PlantSciJobs PostDoc position (immediately available): Molecular plant adaptation. In Markus Stetter‘s lab, Universität zu Köln (CEPLAS-member) deutsche-botanische-gesellschaft.de/en/job-opening…

Yesterday was a big day for José Gonçalves Dias (and me). Very happy that the first PhD from the Stetter lab has been awarded. Congrats Jorge Dias !

Very happy and proud that amaranth made it on the cover of New Phytologist ! nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/toc/14698137/2… . Read more about our work on betalain pigment regulation in amaranth flowers by Tom Winkler et al. nph.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/np…

So proud to have been chosen to serve Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution as president-elect. The society has inspired me in so many ways. I am glad to be granted the chance to promote its values. Thanks members! #SMBE2024

🎉Two scientists from #UniCologne have been awarded the prestigious ERC Starting Grant. Congratulations to Prof Dr Christopher Roth from WiSoFakultät_UniKöln and Prof Dr Markus Stetter CEPLAS🥳 More about the #ERCStG projects👇 uni.koeln/LWZKV

Our latest preprint led by Akanksha Singh. After multiple domestications, amaranth was introduced to new places. We expected strong admixture. Instead differentiation even increased in India, suggesting ongoing speciation and reinforcement biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh…

Congrats to our postdoc Hanna Marie Schilbert for the recognition of her PhD work!
