33rd @Espuorg congress started on 19 April 2023 in Lisbon. The first session was "Animal models in Paediatric Urology: Is there a GOAT?'' chaired by Nicholas Kalfa. Massimo Garriboli talked on the Ethics and research question pointing out the 3Rs: Refinement, Reduction and Replacement.

Followed by a talk by Salvatore Cascio about models of obstruction and gender differences and their applicability on research.

Afterwards, Magdelena Fossum gave her speech on Animal models and their anatomy. She highlighted the differences between species and their potential uses in research.

Martin Kaefer indicated the importance of diseased animal models for better animal research.

Last but not least, Darius Bagli broadened the way of research with alternatives to animal models.
