It was a pleasure to invite our neighbour Corine BERTOLOTTO to IRCAN. It was a great review of the lab's work and a very nice return to Hopital Pasteur, Nice. "Uveal melanomas: identification of new prognosis biomarkers and therapeutic targets" Corine Bertolotto IRCAN

It's super exciting to see The Longevity Papers podcast discuss our recent preprint at [15:50]—highlighting the long-lasting effects of a single-dose treatment in #zebrafish. In their own words: the results are pretty remarkable! Check it out: podcasts.apple.com/nl/podcast/lon… #longevity

Check out out latest publication!! Where we show that #cGAS–#STING inflammation drives premature #aging in response to telomere shortening in #zebrafish. tinyurl.com/34rhn67z

Thanks Hérve! 🙏 Our paper in #zebrafish is just the first of several studies coming up on other organisms (killifish, mouse, etc) investigating the role of #cGAS-#STING in #senescence and #aging at the organism level! Happy to contribute to the knowledge! Go Fish🐟🐟🐟

In my latest preLights post, I highlight this recent work by Giulia Allavena et al. in which the authors find that blocking telomeric DNA damage pathway using antisens oligonucleotides reduces premature aging in zebrafish 🐟🧬 Check it out. prelights.biologists.com/highlights/tel…

Thank you preLights and Jawdat Sandakly for highlighting our work! In our latest preprint, we show that blocking telomeric DNA damage with antisense oligonucleotides can delay premature aging in zebrafish Check out their great summary below 👇

These results are consistent with taurine's role in senescence. We showed that taurine deficiency increases, and taurine supplementation in aged mice decreases, abundance of senescent cells. Taurine reduced accumulation of senescent cells in telomerase deficient zebra fishes.

There is only so much we can achieve with longevity drugs. Aging is intrinsic to human biology, substantially changing its course will require changing our biology. We need better technologies to change human biology, to change our genes.
