Members of Positive voices attended the Pendle twinning group meeting at Curry on the street. Introductions and aims and objectives outlined by the chair. Discussions around the towns Nelson is twinned with in Germany, France and Palistine and future projects. Marsden Heights

Eco Duniya, Marsden makers and Positive voices met during their lunch times and Mash and Jenny outlined the running order for the up and coming Peace walk and Festival of culture. The groups will be running stalls during the festival. Marsden Heights

Members of Positive voices attended a meeting at Althams shop and then helped plant fruit bushes around the shuttle area in Nelson centre. This is in preparation for the festival on the weekend. They were joined by staff from InSitu and Superslow way Marsden Heights In Situ

First session of a four week programme run by Sania from the Pendle Youth Zone , the programme with year 8 girls will look at social media and relationships. Today’s session was about introductions and getting to know each other Marsden Heights

Thank you Aaminah for giving the Positive voices an opportunity to paint and decorate their town for the festival tomorrow. Chalk patterns, green wall, laughs, games and food to finish it all off, oh what a night Marsden Heights

The Marsden makers had a massive input on the day of the festival of culture, with taking part in the peace walk, group conversation with local farmers and national visitors from the ‘Nature calling’ project which is running in only four areas in the country. Marsden Heights

The Positive voices took part in the peace walk from the Pendleside Hospice and joined groups from Colne and Barrowford at the Scotland road Bridge. After following the band into town with over 200 people, they ran their mojito and arts work stall on the day. Marsden Heights

Eco Duniya split into two groups with some on the peace walk and the others set up the stalls in the centre with Jenny in the morning. They sold plants on the day which were supplied by the Goodlife project with whom the group have a long standing relationship Marsden Heights

Marsden makers and YR10 Youthworks committee interviewed members of the community as a part of their Drift radio activity, they were trained up by Liz and spent the day at the Festival of Culture asking people’s views about culture and developments in Nelson Marsden Heights

First day of Smile sessions at MHCC. Sarah and Holly worked with year 7 students in the morning looking at conflict resolution, thank you Miss Hargreaves who year 7 progress lead for your input in picking the group Marsden Heights

The afternoon session was a lively affair and lots of discussion and work done. Thank you Holly and Sarah for your visit and input in the lives of our students. Marsden Heights

The final SMILE session took place on Wednesday morning and it was with year 9 students who were selected by Miss Iqbal. The SMILE sessions were brought into school through the Youthworks department’s community network and future sessions are in the pipeline. Marsden Heights

After achieving a silver medal and winning team of the year at the Regatta last week the boys were let loose on the water in single and double boats. A brilliant day of fun in the sun well deserved by this awesome group of individuals. #soproud Marsden Heights

The Positive Voices enjoyed a day of madness created by the Youthworks team and helped the new year 7 enjoy getting to know each other and being welcomed to the Marsden Heights family, thank you for your help PV14 ❤️Marsden Heights

Community Connections session run by staff from Cue Foundation at Unity Hall. The Marsden Heights Year 10 Youthworks committee at the heart of the group. A day of planning the celebration event, a great session with awesome young people Marsden Heights

A combination of the Positive Voices and Marsden Makers visited the Makers Market in Blackburn, spent time look at the installations in the Cathedral and the Drift radio Pop up in the Shopping Mall. The group then finished the afternoon at kababish with food Marsden Heights

Second session run by Sania from the young people’s service, the girls took part in a listening exercise and spoke about friendships. A really enjoyable session thanks again to Sania for her time and expertise Marsden Heights
