Yesterday, I took part in the opening of "A Place to Live" in Worcester. This innovative solution to homelessness began with a task force I launched as city manager in search of a better way to solve chronic homelessness.

People need to have a comfortable space to call home. But when you’re coming out of homelessness you need more than just a warm bed. Often, people need counseling services, help for addictions, mental health services and help to rebuild their lives.

Building in those wraparound services – just like they are here – can make all the difference. This place will provide that and more.

Congratulations to The Worcester Housing Authority on opening A Place to Live! As a proud partner, we are so pleased to see this project built! Thanks to @cedacma, City of Worcester, Secretary Ed Augustus Jr., Department of Housing and Urban Development, and CMHA for their commitment to housing and the construction of this new housing development.
