If you are interested in polymer mechanochemistry, would like to learn all about the latest work in the field, and share your own research, please come and join us in San Francisco in August ! #ACSFall2023 ACS POLY Division NCCR Bio-Inspired Materials Abstract submission via acs.org/meetings/acs-m…

Very excited to share our latest research J. Am. Chem. Soc.. C-C bond formation via pinacol coupling is made by applying a plasma-liquid process that generates highly reducing solvated electrons. Big thank to Jeff Jeffrey S. Moore, Mohan and all the collaborators! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja…

An #ILLINOIS collaboration among researchers in NPRE at Illinois, Chemistry at Illinois, & Illinois BIOE has demonstrated an innovative & sustainable way of forming carbon-carbon bonds — the bedrock of organic compounds — with just #electricity. bit.ly/3IszrzH

Today we report on J. Am. Chem. Soc. an anion-binding approach to furnish a dynamic covalent poly(disulfide)s with low molecular weight distribution. The binding of sulfide chain ends tames the high reactivity of the anions to achieve high regiochemical ordering. bit.ly/47LcxNY

It has been the greatest pleasure joining forces with Christian Pester Pester Research Group and Eddy Benetti Macromolecular and Organic Chemistry Lab and share our thoughts on polymer brushes in Macromolecules ACS Macro Journals doi.org/10.1021/acs.ma…

Very excited to see my latest paper online at advanced materials @AdvSciNews, we envision that the newly descovered pyro/piezoelectric effect in PE brushes will have many interesting applications in the future. Many thanks to HAK and coauthors Harm-Anton Klok! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

Congrats to Xiaolin Liu, postdoc The Moore Group, Chemistry at Illinois, @BeckmanInst, for this image featured in Chemistry in Pictures: Volcano in a bottle cen.acs.org/synthesis/Chem… via C&EN (Chemical & Engineering News)

Chemistry professor emeritus Ken Suslick & Steve Sligar, professor emeritus in biochemistry & chemistry, have been elected to National Academy of Sciences with physics professor Chen-Yu Liu! 🎉Congratulations for one of the highest honors a scientist can receive. 👏 news.illinois.edu/view/6367/1666…

A precise and simple model to predict the activation force of a number of mechanophores at room temperature, very impressive work! Congrats Yunyan! Yunyan Sun

Please check out our work J. Am. Chem. Soc. on Multicolor and White Emission from Mechanically Caged AIEgens. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ja… I am glad it is also selected as the ACS Editor’s Choice! This work was done with a phenomenal undergrad Kecheng Wang who will apply for grad school soon

Honored that our work has been highlighted as a 🔥Hot Paper 🔥in Angewandte Chemie! Here are some insights inspired by the dynamometer demonstration.

My group at RWTH DWI Leibniz institute for interactive materials will have 2 PhD postions open. If you are in polymer chemistry, please send me emails at [email protected]. Details here: dwi.jobs.personio.de/job/2017091?la…, dwi.jobs.personio.de/job/2017317?la…
