In July 2015, MIRA joined HORIBA, kicking off a decade of innovation! Over the next 10 days, we celebrate key milestones since then. Here are some of our highlights from 2015. #HORIBAMIRA #HORIBA #DecadeOfInnovation

In 2016, we invested £16m to enhance our engineering and testing solutions. Major upgrades included a new Data Acquisition System and advanced crash test dummies for safety tests. We also became the UK's first large TEMPEST accredited EMC testing facility. #DecadeOfInnovation

In 2017 we opened our Advanced Emissions Test Centre, partnered with Nissan on hybrid battery systems, launched CCAAR with Coventry Uni, unveiled the NIMR Viper, and created the first commercial ‘Virtual Proving Ground’. A year of real progress towards smarter, cleaner mobility.

2018: MIRA Technology Park received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for international trade. ClearMotion and Warwick Acoustics joined, boosting our advanced tech community. We welcomed new leadership and opened the Advanced Battery Development Suite - a true year of growth.

In 2019 we expanded our Propulsion Test and Development Centre, opened the Vehicle Resilience Technology Centre, and Dr. George Gillespie was appointed SMMT President. Apprentice Stephanie Haynes won a national award, and MIRA Tech Park was honoured for innovation.

In 2020 we opened the UK’s first large battery ‘shaker’ at Quatro Park, enabling advanced battery testing. We launched the HORIBA MIRA People Awards, marked MIRA Tech Park’s 10th anniversary, and welcomed Viritech to the park, a year that showed true resilience and innovation.

Compact, low cost satellite system simulators are being sought in the latest 12-week, funded tech challenge by HMGCC Co-Creation. Solutions must be able to replicate real time GNSS. To find out how to apply, see: bit.ly/3GgNjPv

In 2021 we gained TISAX Level 3 accreditation, Polestar joined MIRA Tech Park, we launched our new Employee Engagement Survey, we gained VCA accreditation for heavy-duty vehicle emissions, and MIRA Tech Park formed a joint venture with Evans Randall Investors to drive growth.

In 2022 we opened the ASSURED CAV ecosystem and were named ‘Test Facility of the Year’, we secured a UK MOD contract for an autonomous ground and air solution, 3 HORIBARIANs were named in Autocar’s Top 100 Great Women & we opened our Battery Abuse Test Site.

In 2023 we opened our Driving Simulator Centre and Cleantech Test Centre for hydrogen testing. Nio joined MIRA Tech Park, expanding our community of global automotive brands, and we won awards for Engineering Consultancy, Digital Innovation, and R&D excellence.

In 2024, highlights include the opening of the UK’s first Passive Safety Centre for frontal car-to-car impact testing. We received The King’s Award for Sustainable Development and advanced our hydrogen testing with upgraded facilities and a new electrolyser.

2025 is shaping up to be another milestone year. We hosted the Industrial Strategy launch with the PM, expanded battery testing at Quatro Park, and saw Joanne Smith named ATTI 'Person of the Year' - and with half the year still to go, there’s plenty more to come.
