As someone who’s experienced the trauma of pregnancy loss, I’m relieved that we’re finally recognising miscarriage for what it is - a bereavement. Instead of taking sick leave, women will be able to stand up and say “I’m not ill, I’m grieving”, and take the time off they need.

No one who is going through the heartbreak of pregnancy loss should have to go back to work before they are ready. Labour is amending the Employment Rights Bill to allow parents to take time off work if they experience pregnancy loss at any stage. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…
