In a bid to foster justice without fair or favour, Judge Advocate Senior Magistrate (Captain Retired) Mac-Ngegba ordered both the Prosecution and Defence teams to put their materials together to ensure that the trial is conducted within the time frame of 3 weeks with a caveat.

The Court Martial trial of 27 RSLAF personnel took place at Court No.1 Main Law Court Building in Freetown on Monday 8th January 2024. The President and board members of the Court Martial are credible Senior Officers of the RSLAF and considered proper persons to conduct the trial

He said he was only being used by some people to involve in crimes he committed. All the other 26 accused pleaded not guilty. Court was adjourned to Friday 12thJanuary 2024.

First accused, RSLAF 18171601 Staff Sergeant Alhaji Koroma of 11 Infantry Battalion Kambia, pleaded guilty to some of the offences. He further pleaded to His Excellency Brigadier General (Rtd) Dr Julius Maada Bio and the people of Sierra Leone to have mercy on him.

MOD/RSLAF Court Martial Pre-trial of 27 personnel continued on Wednesday 10thJanuary 2024. The offences included but not limited to Mutiny, Failure to suppress mutiny, Murder, Aiding the enemy, Communicating with the enemy and other relevant offences.
