Paul donated his kidney via the sharing scheme for his daughter. Paul's wife has previously donated her kidney to their other daughter. A pin badge is given by NHS Blood+Transplant as a gift to recognize their incredible act of generosity. Paul made it into a necklace. #OrganDonationWeek

Apparently it’s tradition for the transplant registrar to take a picture with the islet cells when doing an islet cell transplant at MRI Transplant Unit so here is said picture 🤷🏻‍♀️ operating is cool, but it’s not every day you get to agitate cells into a portal vein!
