Recently RIBES ESR @henry_h_hansen from RivEM KarlstadUni and others, published a case study exploring effects of fish movements, habitat shifts, and distances between habitats on habitat restoration for grayling and nase. Full paper here: besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…

Recently published paper by RIBES ESR Sophia Schumann. With Gloria Mozzi, Gianfranco Santovito and others: "Social buffering of oxidative stress and cortisol in an endemic cyprinid fish". Italian riffle dace less stressed in groups than alone. Full paper: nature.com/articles/s4159…

Find my newest article online about the calming effect of fish in groups published in Scientific Reports. Working with Gloria Mozzi during my doctoral journey at RIBES has been a pleasure. rdcu.be/dsThU

RIBES ESR James Campbell, from IGB Berlin (now on Bluesky), recently coauthored a paper on how an illuminated bridge can create a light barrier when it embodies unnatural light variations with increased and decreased light levels. Paper led by Catherine Pérez Vega (det.social/@cathperezvega).

New paper: "Artificial light at night affects #fishpassage rates in two small-sized Cypriniformes fish". Passage rate⬆️for Italian riffle dace,⬇️for gudgeon under artifical light at night in flume experiment. Fish also passed faster after repeated trials🎓onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/ef…

RIBES ESRs Usama Ashraf from diati.polito recently published a paper on effects of in-flume habituation time on estimated swimming performance in Rutilus aula. Very short habituation times reduced performance. Also behavior influenced results. Read paper: tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

New RIBES paper by IGB Berlin (now on Bluesky) Early Stage Researcher Alfredo Schiavon and others. Work in collaboration with diati.polito. Underscoring the importance of river connectivty in face of water scarcity. #ecohydraulics World Fish Migration Day #fishtelemetry

New paper with RIBES Early Stage Researchers Rachel Mawer and Velizara Stoilova among the coauthor: "Aquatic connectivity - challenges and solutions in a changing climate". Access the paper here: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/jf…
