How I spent my Wednesday morning this week. And yes, Blue let me try a few tosses. Unfortunately no, I did not make any despite my experience as both a quarterback and mascot. That horse makes everything look easy.

The Brickyard. A surface laid in 1909 and not seen in Turn 2 since 1937. I certainly never thought in my lifetime that I’d lay eyes on those bricks, fully exposed. Completely surreal experience. Euphoric if you love this place like we do.

For the first time, all three track surface types are on display at the Museum. This week during a Turn 2 repaving project, IMS officials uncovered the original crushed rock and tar track surface from 1909β€”116 years ago! See this piece of history in the Track Lounge.

Stuff of nightmares. Thankfully, our boys are safe tonight. I pray almost daily for the Holy Spirit’s protection of our schools. I wholeheartedly believe God hears my prayers. I also believe the good Lord wonders why we aren’t taking action to prevent such incidents & tragedies.
